Ballast
Losing weight is the easy part now. Keeping your muscle is the job.
A meaningful share of the weight lost on a GLP-1 medication is lean mass, not fat. The two things that protect it are well established and unglamorous: enough protein, and resistance training that gets slightly harder over time.
Ballast does exactly those two things. It builds a strength program around your age, sex, training experience, and whatever equipment you actually own, ramps it up as you adapt, and tracks protein against a target that follows your current weight down. It reads your weight from Apple Health and writes every session back as a strength training workout.
Everything stays on your phone. There is no account, no server, and nothing to sign up for.
Why "Ballast"
Ballast is the weight a ship carries on purpose. It sits low, it never comes off, and it is the reason the ship stays upright and holds its line when the weather turns. A ship with no ballast is lighter, and useless.
That is the distinction this whole app is built on. You are trying to lose weight, and you should. But not all of it is the same, and the part that keeps you strong, upright and capable is worth defending. Muscle is your ballast. The rest can go.
Not medical advice
Ballast is a fitness and nutrition tracker, not a medical device. It does not diagnose or treat anything and it never gives dosing advice. Talk to your doctor or a registered dietitian before changing how you eat or train.
